The white crappie pictured in the foreground is silvery with vertical stripes and has a more elongated body than does the black crappie in the background, which has overall darker coloration. Both species will hunker in shallow-water sticks during the spring spawn, feeding on insects and baitfish, yet will chase fishermen's small jigs as portrayed on this crappie shirt.
